New
Jersey is a state with multiple personalities. It seems that in the last
twenty years people refer to New Jersey as one giant bedroom. Certainly
the New York commuters has covered a good part of northeastern New
Kersey and Philadelphia has expanded across the Delaware (those
cranberry bogs do help preserve some of the old South Jersey flavor,
though). Northwestern New Jersey, however, has changed little. bordered
along the Delaware River with the Delaware Water Gap, frequently cited
as one of the eight scenic wonders of the world, its mountains, lakes
and streams are more popular than ever and every bit as enjoyable.
Relax and enjoy an outstanding view of the Delaware Water Gap from your room at the Columbia Days Inn. You don't have to give up any of the amenities, either. A 24-hour full-service restaurant (featuring both a breakfast and dinner buffet), a 24-hour snack center, plus, of course, a 24-hour gift shop. The Poconos in nearby Pennsylvania are conveniently accessible. Best of all, the room rtates are very reasonable. Check it out at Days Inn Columbia. Budd Lake - the lake - feeds the South Branch of the Raritan River. Excellent, natural hatches just about guarantee that true trout flavor and - we've been assured - fly fishing, here, is a good as ever. For an excellent review of the fishing, view FishingConnection. You will notice - if you are eastbound - that as the distance increases between you and the Delaware River you will see more and more urbanized surroundings. Attractions around here are primarily city, county and state parks and more for local residents than for folks driving through. There are some excellent hotels, with bus service, for folks not wishing to stay overnight on Manhattan - or don't wish to drive in New York City. |
This is about as
close as you can get to Manhattan for a high-rise, luxury hotel but
still be in New Jersey. Just seconds from exit 70 of I-80 at 100 Frank
Burr Blvd., the Glenpointe Marriott indulges you with famous Marriott
service. Bus service to Manhattan is available at a stop next to the
hotel. And, yes, parking is FREE! At the western end
of the George Washington Bridge and just south of New Jersey's famous
Palisades, this is a very convenient 'home away from home' for those who
prefer not to stay in Manhattan. For hotels in Manhattan, see our list of discount hotels: www.Reserv-Net.Net.
